Lawrence T Shiembob

Lawrence T. Shiembob passed away on February 4, 2013, in the care of his loving family. Larry is the son of Henry R. and Helen Pencek Shiembob and is predeceased by his sister Leona Shiembob Dressel. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 57 years, Nancy Uricchio Shiembob, his sister Laura, sons Larry, Ed, and Henry, daughters Mary Finstein and Laura Martin, and their families including 13 grandchildren. Larry built his career at Pratt and Whitney, with over 37 years of service when he retired in 1999. During the course of his tenure, Larry had been awarded several patents and was the author of a number of published papers in gas turbine engine sealing. Thereafter, he worked as a consultant and manager of seal development for Sulzer Metco. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and served as Chairman of the Manufacturing Materials and Metallurgy Committee of the International Gas Turbine Conference for several years. Larry was dedicated to the Rocky Hill community. He was a member of St James Roman Catholic Church and served on the parish council. He was past Chairman of the Rocky Hill Republican Town Committee, a member of the Board of Education and Member and Chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals for over 20 years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, a member and director of the Polish National Home of Hartford and member and officer of the Polish American Republican Club of Hartford. A loving husband, dedicated father, treasured grandfather. Funeral services will be MONDAY at 8:30am. in the Giuliano-Sagarino Funeral Home at BROOKLAWN, 511 Brook Street Rocky Hill, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Church at 9:30am. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Rocky Hill, Friends are invited to the funeral home, SUNDAY from 2-4 pm.
